Spring/early Summer (March-May) and Autumn (Sept-Nov) are the most popular times to visit Morocco.  Temperatures tend to be at their mildest, particularly in the desert and inland cities of Marrakech and Fes.  Spring is the perfect time to see the nomadic farmers move animals to the lower rich mountain pastures.  Take in spectacular floral displays in Kelaa Mgouna (Rose Valley), almond blossoms (early February), and fragrantly divine orange blossoms.  The Erfoud Date Festival and the Taliouine Saffron Festival are held in autumn.

Summer and Winter also create memorable holiday experiences for you.  Have the best time when visiting Morocco in the summer by staying in the cooler mountain regions (some of which are impassable in the Winter) and visiting the many beaches on offer.  Want to experience some of the best Moroccan festivals?  The Sefrou Cherry Festival, Essaouira Gnawa and World Music Festival, World Sacred Music Festival, Marrakech Popular Arts Festival, Imilchil Marriage Festival, and Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar are just a handful held over the summer months.  Summer can be the best time to visit Morocco!

Is the heat not really your thing?  Time a Winter visit to Morocco! Marrakech in the winter is not only pleasant temperature wise, it’s also spectacular.  The snow covered Atlas Mountains are a stunning backdrop for palm trees dotting the skyline.  Or if you are feeling energetic, take part in the Marrakech International Marathon (January).  See the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas under their blanket of snow.  Ski the slopes of the Middle and High Atlas mountains.  And if it gets too cold for you, just continue on your way to the warm sands of the Sahara desert. Maybe experience a New Year’s eve desert party!
