Rabat

At the foot of the Atlantic Ocean, the white Imperial city of Rabat is the political and administrative capital of Morocco.  Palaces, parks, monuments, boulevards, foreign embassies and ancient kasbah make for an alluring visit to this city of two faces.  Key sights include the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the austere and solemn Hassan Tower.  Not to be missed is the Oudaya Kasbah, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering fabulous views, as well its narrow twisting alleyways which are home to Moroccan artisan galleries.
