Marrakech Short Tour (2 Nights)

Arrive in Marrakech.  Visit Djemaa El Fna Square, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the main cultural spaces in Marrakech, which comes alive at night with musicians, entertainers and the scent of delicious food.  Overnight in Marrakech.

DAY 2: Explore Marrakech

morocco-marrakech-jardin-marjorelleDevote the whole day to exploring the famous city of Marrakech, the ‘southern pearl’ of Morocco, and second oldest Imperial city which has for centuries been an important stop for traders and travellers.  Your tour with a private cultural and historic guide will include the Menera Gardens, the famous serene Jardin Majoralle, Bahia Palace, and Saadian tombs.  Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, with its 77m high minaret dominating the centre of Marrakech, and the vivid souks filled with exquisite woodwork, leatherwork, ceramics, brass and copper work, jewellery and textiles. Overnight in Marrakech.

DAY 3: Cooking Class, Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley, or Essaouira.

morocco-ouzoud-waterfalls1Take a break from the lively pace of Marrakech and choose from a variety of options to fill your day.  All are a day trip from Marrakech.

  • Take an hour drive to the Berber village of Imlil where you meet your mountain guide who will explore the mountain and village with you.
  • Spend a peaceful day in the Ourika Valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, with its beautiful scenery and waterfalls.
  • Take a day trip to the spectacular Ouzoud Falls, a complex network of waterfalls that cascade one into another through three major and several minor drops.
  • Spend the day exploring the coastal town of Essaouira.  With its windswept fishing port, broad beaches, ancient walled medina with ramparts built into the cliffs, and relaxed but lively medina, Essaouira is a popular destination.  Add an extra night and stay in Essaouira if you wish.

Spend the day in a cooking school, sampling your culinary creations, and then be pampered in a Hammam (traditional Moroccan bath house).
